Believe in yourself, even if you don’t, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will.

MOTIVATE YOUR FITNESS
Here’s a few ideas on how to stay motivated.
STAY POSITIVE! This is probably the most important… Silence any critical or negative self talk and praise yourself. Be your best friend, be your number one fan, & LOVE YOURSELF! This will help you to reach your goals, stay positive and motivated.
SCHEDULE YOUR WORKOUTS AND STICK TO A ROUTINE There's nothing more important than your health and if you can’t look after yourself, how can you look after anyone else. Schedule your workouts like you would any other important appointment or meeting.
WORKOUT FIRST if you can, before the rest of the day gets in the way. Not only will it give your metabolism a boost, so your body will be a fat burning machine, you will have all those feel good endorphins and hormones keeping you positive all day.
CELEBRATE SUCCESS Find the wins, even if they are small. If you are trying to lower your BMI, don't measure your success solely on the scales. It doesn’t give you an accurate measure. Try taking a photo or measurements of the waist, arms and legs. Think about your cardiovascular fitness improvements, maybe you can workout for longer? Has your flexibility range increased & what about your muscular strength & endurance? Perhaps you could only do one press-up and now you can do three. So it's not just about the scales.
MOVEMENT IS A GIFT A few years ago, I hurt my knee playing sport. I had two operations and spent months on crutches. I had to teach myself to walk again. It was tough and the experience taught me many things but mostly how lucky we are to move our bodies and get up each day. Your body is a gift and your most priceless possession so take care of it, enjoy it.
WORKOUTS ARE A TREAT One of my boot campers told me that she looks forward to Boot Camp all week and it's her Friday treat. I LOVE this attitude. Before she started her fitness journey, I don’t think she ever thought she would hear herself say that! Exercise is fun and it makes you feel good and you need to think of it as a treat, not another obstacle that you have to cram into your week. So alter negative perspectives into positives & create healthy habits not restrictions.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE A BEGINNER For the beginners out there, just remember what you are doing is amazing, we were all beginners at some point and we are all beginners at things all the time, so allow yourself time to progress and no matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch;) It takes time but the journey is so exciting.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS There is a bond that is created when a group struggles, sweats & fights their way through a tough workout. I know I couldn’t get through half of my workouts without my Boot Campers. Find a healthy environment whether that’s in my boot camp group or some other group. Have a friend and say every morning we exercise together on zoom, FaceTime, Skype or meet for a walk, jog or cycle. Working out in a group or with a friend increases your commitment to a fitness routine by 80%!
